Description

The ogre carries the horse on his back and soon has to stop. The man carries it between his legs, i.e., rides. [K72]. Cf. Type 1640.

Variants

1082A. The Soldier Who Rode on Death

The soldier's bargain with Death: while one carries the other, the one carried is to sing. When it is the soldier' turn to sing, he sings an endless song, so that Death leaves him in peace.
