Description

Gives his wife too little to eat. On the advice of the servant boy, he spies on her from inside the chimney, under the bolster, etc. Gets burned in the chimney, beaten in the bed. [W153.2]. Cf. Types 1373, 1458.

1407A. Everything!

Greedy and sick old man or woman sees servant girl eating a great deal. Complains that she is eating up everything from her employers. Girl hears only »everything» and takes this as a testament. [Cf. J1521.2].
